The Flag Officer Commanding Naval Training Command (FOC NAVTRAC), Rear Admiral Robert Obeya Obeya, has continued his familiarisation tour of training establishments under his command, reaffirming his commitment to enhancing naval training standards and operational efficiency across the Nigerian Navy.

The tour, which spanned several formations and institutions, commenced on Wednesday, 13 August 2025, with visits to the Nigerian Navy Ship (NNS) QUORRA in Apapa, Lagos, and the Underwater Warfare School in Navy Town, Ojo, Lagos State. On Thursday, 14 August 2025, Rear Admiral Obeya paid a courtesy call on the Olota of Ota in Ogun State.

The familiarisation tour further continued on Monday, 18 August 2025, with a visit to the Nigerian Navy Logistics College (NNLC), Dawakin Tofa, Kano State, where the Commanding Naval Training NAVTRAC commissioned a newly installed 4.5KVA solar power system at the College’s Galley. The initiative, he noted, is a strategic step towards improving power supply and boosting the efficiency of training facilities.

On Tuesday, 19 August 2025, Rear Admiral Obeya visited the Nigerian Defence Academy (NDA), Kaduna State, where he inspected the Naval Wing and was warmly received by the Chief Instructor, Captain Murtala Tafida Suleiman. He later toured the Nigerian Navy Simulation Centre before proceeding to the NDA Hall of Fame. At the Hall, he commended the Commandant for his visionary leadership and unwavering commitment to grooming future leaders of the Armed Forces of Nigeria.

During his visit to NNS QUORRA, the Commanding Naval Training NAVTRAC emphasized the urgent need to upgrade training aids and infrastructure in line with global best practices. He reiterated that quality training remains central to the Nigerian Navy’s mission readiness and strategic effectiveness.

Rear Admiral Obeya affirmed that the familiarisation visits are aimed at strengthening institutional capacity, assessing operational needs, and motivating personnel across naval training institutions.
