The Force Commander MNJTF, Major-General Abdul Khalifah Ibrahim, paid an operational visit to Forward Operation Base Malam Fatori today, Wednesday, March 22, 2023, in an effort to energize troops of the Multinational Joint Task Force (MNJTF) and assess their combat readiness.
This information can be found in a statement made to the media by Lieutenant Colonel Kamarudeen Adegoke, the MNJTF’s chief military public information officer. The FC’s remarks came after the 68 Battalion Lieutenant Colonel A Onyeukwu gave a thorough briefing on the unit’s involvement in Operation Lake and Flood Sanity and other operational matters. The FC praised the CO for his proactive style of leadership since he assumed command and praised him for stabilizing the difficult location.
According to him, Mallam Fatori is strategically important, which explains why the criminal terrorists kept trying to take over the area. Additionally, he noted that additional deployments had increased the security in the region, but he also saw a need for more equipment, which he promised to bring up with ASA.
Further praising the soldiers’ bravery and gallantry in repelling every attempt to attack their position, Major General Khalifa pledged to give them more assistance. In addition, he exhorted soldiers to maintain professionalism and discipline at all times as they work to protect the AOR from criminal terrorists.
He offered them condolences in honor of their coworkers who made the ultimate sacrifice, referring to them as heroes who would never be forgotten, and wished the injured a speedy recovery. The 19 Brigade commander, Brigadier General EA Orakwe, as well as other staff members from HQ MNJTF Ndjamena, were present for the visit. The tour of the camp to look at ongoing projects and gauge troop deployment was the highlight of the trip.
