Major-General TA Lagbaja, the General Officer Commanding (GOC) 1 Division Nigerian Army (NA) and Force Commander of Operation Whirl Punch, has challenged the Division’s recently promoted and decorated senior officers to step up their efforts and commitment to duty.

This was on December 21, 2022, at the Stallion Officers Mess in Kaduna, when he charged the officers while decorating the newly promoted Brigadier Generals with their new ranks.

“You must redouble your efforts and brazen up for more tasks as promotion comes with higher responsibilities” He also charged them to contribute more positively to the system and be a beacon of success to their subordinates..

Brigadier-General OO Ejere, the Deputy Chief of Staff for Training and Operations, Brigadier-General AD Aliyu, the Director Education Services 1 Division, and Brigadier-General AHB Jibril, the Commander 1 Division Provost Group, are the newly promoted and decorated senior commanders. Formation Commanders, Principal Staff Officers, senior officers, loved ones, and well-wishers of the newly promoted officers all showed up in large numbers to the celebration.

The most senior of the newly promoted senior officers, Brigadier-General OO EJERE, thanked God Almighty for the promotion, Commander in Chief of the Armed Forces President Muhammadu Buhari, and the Army Council/Chief of Army Staff for finding them deserving while expressing gratitude on behalf of the beneficiaries. He also pledged their unwavering and ongoing loyalty to the Nigerian Army. The event’s highlights included the group portrait.
