Joint Task Force (South-South) Operation Delta Safe now has a new General Officer Commanding (GOC) in charge of 6 Division, Nigerian Army. General Jamal Abdussalam is the man in question. He was the recently the Military Secretary (Army) before being appointed as the 10th General Officer Commanding, 6 Division, Nigerian Army.
The outgoing GOC of the 6 Division Nigerian Army, Major General Olufemi Oluyede, thanked officers and soldiers of the Division for their support and cooperation in a statement given to journalists by Lieutenant Colonel Iweha Ikedichi, the acting deputy director of army public relations for the Division. This allowed him to record the division’s modest successes. He urged the officers and men of the Division to provide the new GOC with an even higher degree of assistance, as well as the Brigade Commanders, Commanders of connected formations and units, and others.
In his reply, Major General Jamal Abdussalam of the Nigerian Army’s 6th Division’s GOC expressed his appreciation for the accomplishments made possible by the outgoing GOC’s leadership. To always keep in mind the fundamentals of soldiering, he urged officers and men. He promised to build on his predecessor’s accomplishments and that he would not tolerate threats against the team, the facility, or the equipment.
Major General Olufemi Oluyede, the director of the Office of the Chief of Army Staff’s Directorate of Inspection and Compliance, was only recently transferred to Army Headquarters in Abuja.
