The Theatre Commander Joint Task Force North East Operation HADIN KAI Major-General IS Ali, the Theatre Logistics Component Commander, Brigadier-General EJ Ikomi, and other Senior Officers visited Sector 3 OPHK and MNJTF, Monguno on February 8, 2023 as part of the ongoing familiarization tour. General Ibrahim Ali was given a thorough briefing on the operational activities of the sector after being welcomed by Maj-Gen AE Abubakar, the sector commander.
Major General Ali thanked the command for their outstanding achievements in the war against the militants and expressed his happiness at being in Sector 3 Area of Responsibility. Maj Gen Ibrahim Ali underlined the necessity for professionalism and discipline when speaking to the troops. He also gave the command instructions to keep the hybrid force’s operations under control and in line with international best practices.
The TC also ordered them to maintain the pace of the Sector’s offensives against the terrorists in order to restrict their freedom of movement and eliminate the remaining terrorists who were rampaging. Sector 3 has made significant progress since its inception in diminishing the terrorist, and it must keep doing so until the entire region is free of terrorism and other criminal activities, he added.
The Theatre Commander, OPHK, also voiced his appreciation with the Sector’s Civil-Military Cooperation efforts, calling them “vital and significant in gaining the hearts and minds of the residents and also a true tool for winning the battle against the insurgents.”
It is a honor welcoming the Theatre Commander OPHK and members of his entourage in Sector Headquarters, said Major General AE Abubakar earlier in his welcome speech. Major General Abubakar asserts that the TC’s visit is essential to raising troop morale in the ongoing counterterrorism and counterinsurgency operations and that it comes at the right time. He gave the Theatre Commander more assurances of the Sector’s dedication and determination to carry out the Operational mandate of OPHK.
Before leaving, the TC also paid a visit to the 68 Battalion Mallam Fatori, where he spoke to the troops, gave them some supplies, and guaranteed them of his ongoing support and proper care. Additionally, he promised to recognize and promote effort.
The Theatre Commander’s wreath-laying ceremony at the Sector 3 OPHK/MNJTF Heroes Wall of Fame, the delivery of supplies to the troops, the signing of the visitors’ book, the presentation of mementos, and the group photo were the highlights of the visit.
