General Bamidele Alabi Affirms Commitment to Selfless Service in Host Community

Major General BA Alabi, General Officer Commanding 1 Division Nigerian Army and Force Commander of Operation Whirl Punch, has reaffirmed 1 Division Nigerian Army’s (NA) dedication to providing selfless service to its host community. This declaration was made at a medical outreach held as part of the Nigerian Army Day Celebration 2023 at LEA Primary School Kawo, Kaduna.

Brigadier General UG Ogeleka, Commander 51 Brigade Signals, spoke on behalf of the GOC, emphasizing that the goal of the medical outreach was to improve relations between the Division and its host community. He emphasized that the occasion gave attendees access to health information, counseling, and care for a range of ailments. He exhorted participants to communicate openly and honestly with the skilled medical staff in order to maximize the outreach’s positive effects.

In order to help the Nigerian Army in its operations against criminal groups, the GOC also requested the assistance and collaboration of the Kawo community.

Alhaji Jibril Muhammadu Sani, the district head of Kawo and the Danmakwayan Zazzau, responded by thanking the Nigerian Army for its dedication and selfless service in raising the living and health conditions of the people of Kawo. He acknowledged that the action made people smile and gave them hope.

The medical outreach included a variety of services, including as counseling, medical consultations, HIV testing, dental and eye care, free prescription drugs, and eyeglass distribution. Additionally, nearly 200 students from Kawo’s secondary and primary schools received NADCEL branded practice booklets. A health presentation on the risks of drug usage, beverages and snacks, and a group photo were also included in the event.

Host Community

The passion and selflessness of the military in helping to enhance the lives of the people they serve is demonstrated by 1 Division Nigerian Army’s commitment to the welfare of its host community. The Nigerian Army’s dedication to developing strong relationships and having a beneficial impact on the host community is demonstrated by the medical outreach and other activities carried out during the Nigerian Army Day Celebration.
