The former Chief of Military Intelligence (CMI), Brigadier-General Abdulrahman Kuliya, has been immortalized by the Nigerian Army Intelligence Corps (NAIC) by naming a 350-seater Training Shed to his name at the NAIC Headquarters WU-Bassey Barracks in Asokoro Abuja.

Brigadier-General Kuliya and former Chief of Army Staff Lieutenant-General Ibrahim Attahiru died in the tragic military plane crash in Kaduna State on May 21, 2021. The project that was officially launched today, Friday, January 13, 2013 bears their names.

Due to General Kuliya’s achievements in the Nigerian Army and the Intelligence Corps, COAS Lieutenant-General Faruk Yahaya stated during the event that it was appropriate to name the project after him.

The COAS, who was represented by the Chief of Special Service and Programmes, Major-General EV Onumajuru, praised the late intelligence chief as a committed and loyal senior officer who made a significant contribution to the development of the intelligence corps both during his service years and during his brief tenure as the CMI, particularly in the area of training. He continued by saying that the facility would offer a favorable setting for the training of Nigerian Army soldiers.

The late Brigadier-General Kuliya served the Intelligence Corps and the Army in significant roles, and he possessed outstanding leadership characteristics that motivated both commanders and personnel, according to Major=General DI Salihu, Chief of Military Intelligence. He thought back to some of the operational and managerial contributions made by the late top officials, adding that his contributions will continue to motivate future generations.

Mrs. Maryam Kuliya, the late Brigadier- General Kuliya’s widow, senior officers from the Nigerian Army Headquarters and the Defense Department, as well as staff from NAIC, all saw the occasion.
