The General Officer Commanding (GOC) 1 Division Nigerian Army Maj Gen TA Lagbaja today 30 December 2022, commissioned the newly constructed and furnished accommodation for the Regimental Sergeant Major (RSM) 3 Brigade Nigerian Army Kano.
Making his remarks during the commissioning ceremony, Major General Lagbaja said the newly built accommodation for the RSM was part of the Chief of Army Staff, Lt Gen Faruk Yahaya effort at improving the welfare of personnel and members of their family, which other RSM’s at Army Headquarters and Divisional formations/units across the country has benefitted from.
General Lagbaja stated that the role of the RSM in Nigerian Army formations and units is very germane to the enhancement of regimentation and discipline among soldiers. He further urged the RSM 3 Brigade to ensure adequate maintenance of the accommodation.
The General was represented by the Commander 3 Brigade Nigerian Army, Brig Gen JO Are. Highlights of the event was the cutting of the commissioning tape and handing over of the keys of the accommodation to the RSM.
