On February 15, 2023, Major General OT Olatoye, Commandant NASI paid a visit to Major General TA Lagbaja, Force Commander of the Joint Task Force Operation Whirl Punch, and General Officer Commanding (GOC) of the Nigerian Army’s 1st Division.
The GOC thanked the Commandant NASI for his visit as well as for his well-deserved appointment as the institution’s 17th commandant in his remarks made during the Commandant’s visit. Additionally, he thanked him for all the assistance NASI has provided to the Division, especially the 1 Division Training School, and promised to continue to work with the School in support of it.
The Commandant NASI had earlier stated that the goal of his visit was to publicly thank the GOC for his assistance in maintaining peace and normalcy within the Division’s Area of Responsibility (AOR) for national security. He expressed his gratitude to the GOC for welcoming him and his entourage despite their busy schedules.
Highlights of the event were signing of visitors book, exchange of souvenirs and group photograph.
