The General Officer Commanding (GOC) 1 Division Nigerian Army Maj Gen TA Lagbaja has today 15 February 2023 inaugurated the Driving and Basic Catering Course 1/2023 at the 71 Supply and Transport Brigade, Ribadu Cantonment Kaduna.
In his remarks, the GOC who was represented by the Division’s Training Officer Brig Gen BO Amakor commended the effort of the Commander 71 Supply and Transport Brigade, Colonel WA Bakare for the endless effort the unit has put in the training of personnel of 1 Division.
He said the Drivers and Catering Courses is an assemblage of drivers and caterers within 1 Division of the Nigerian Army which is a previlage for the nominated drivers and caterers to be professionally trained in order to discharge their roles as drivers and caterers in the Nigerian Army. He then advised that the students to take the course serious as it will afford them the opportunity to become better trained professionals.
Earlier in his remarks, the Acting Commander 71 Supply and Transport Brigade Col WA Bakare welcomed the representative of the GOC and other guests and applauded the continuous support of the GOC to Brigade. Col Bakare then solicited for more support so as to to give the Brigade a facelift for a more conducive environment for the student and staff. The course he said consist of 84 drivers and 21 caterers from various unit and formations in 1 Division Area of Responsibility.
