The General Officer Commanding (GOC) 2 Division Nigerian Army Major General Mohammed Usman has reiterated on the importance of joint training and exercises by the military and security agencies in Oyo State and Nigeria in general. Major General Usman stated this while addressing participants of the joint route match conducted in Ibadan by the military, police and other security agencies as a mark of unity and cohesion between the agencies. The GOC while commending the turnout and the enthusiasm displayed by the participants, enjoined them to keep up the momentum, as well as work together to help the government maintain peace and security.
The GOC 2 Divition pointed out that the exercise, apart from building confidence in the people, will further provide the required synergy, cooperation and collaboration needed amongst the agencies in providing a conductive environment for the conduct of the forthcoming elections.
The Chief Tiger charged the agencies to exercise regularly as it will help improve their physical fitness and enhance their performance when carrying out exercises or trainings.
The agencies that participated in the exercise include; 2 Division Nigerian Army, 671 Nigerian Air force, Nigerian Police, Department of State Service, Nigeria Security and Civil Defence Corps, Nigeria Custom Service, Nigeria Immigration Service, Nigeria Correctional Service, Federal Road Safety Corps, National Park Service, Oyo State Traffic Management Authority and members of the National Youth Service Corps.
