The newly promoted officers in the NA have been ordered by Major-General Abdulsami Ibrahim, the General Officer Commanding 3 Division and Commander of Operation SAFE HAVEN, to undergo ongoing training and obtain cutting-edge military expertise in order to counter any new threats to the country’s security. At the Rhino Officers Mess in Maxwell Khobe Cantonment, Jos, he delivered the address during the event honouring young officers who had recently been promoted.
The General urged the newly promoted officers to make the most of the many recent platforms used by the Army leadership to train its personnel in order to better themselves and advance their careers in the Nigerian Army, according to Lieutenant-Colonel Ishaku Takwa, the Acting Deputy Director Army Public Relations 3 Division Nigerian Army. He pointed out that training is still the cornerstone of the military career, and that new officers in particular must continually train to defeat the enemies of the state.
General Abdulsalami congratulated the newly promoted officers and noted that it is the duty of the leadership to see to the discipline, welfare, and advancement of the soldiers. Therefore, he urged Commanders to support their officers as they study for their promotions examinations, pointing out that doing so would make them eligible for subsequent promotions. The GOC further encouraged friends and family to continuously encourage the young officers as they advance in their chosen professions.

Additionally speaking at the event, Brigadier-General Micheal Agi, President of the Mess Committee, encouraged the recently promoted officers to take advice from their seniors and ensure the professional performance of their responsibilities. The event’s highlights were the decoration of the officers with their new rank badges, a group photo, and counsel from the senior officers to the junior officers. Principal staff officers from Headquarters 3 Division, commanders and commanding officers, as well as friends and family members, witnessed the event.
