As part of NA’s Intervention Projects planned for the Chief of Army Staff Annual Conference 2022, the Executive Governor of Sokoto State, Rt. Hon. Aminu Tambuwal, on Tuesday, December 6, 2022, officially opened Command Guest House, Sokoto.

This was said in a statement given to media on December 6, 2022, by Brigadier General Onyema Nwachukwu, Director of Army Public Relations.

During the commissioning ceremony, Governor Tambuwal said the building would offer reasonable lodging for both domestic and foreign investors as well as opportunities for youngsters to work in the hospitality sector, adding that it would support the state’s economic potential.

The Governor expressed confidence that the COAS’s direction and leadership will result in the Guest House’s continued expansion. Governor Tambuwal praised the Nigerian Army (NA) for its tireless efforts in preserving Nigeria’s territorial integrity, particularly the region’s North West, where peace is gradually returning.

The Government Girls Arabic Secondary School at Emir Yahaya was renovated, the International Conference Center Mosque was finished, 32 Classrooms at Tangaza were renovated, and overhead water tanks at the Community Water Point in Sifawa were constructed. Donations of books and medical supplies were also made to schools and Primary. Along with other states, Sokoto State also saw the implementation of medical outreach programs for the less fortunate.

In his remarks at the ceremony, Lieutenant General Faruk Yahaya, the Chief of Army Staff, thanked the Governor and said that the CIMIC Intervention Projects throughout the state were a part of the NA’s non-kinetic operations intended to give back to the community in the hope of gaining Nigerians’ hearts and minds.
