His Excellency Professor Babagana Umar Zulum, the Governor of Borno State, has praised the military’s kinetic and non-kinetic contributions to Operation Hadin Kai (OPHK) and the Multinational Joint Task Force (MNJTF), which have fostered the growth of the state’s social, economic, and commercial activities.

The praise was given by Governor Zulum at the Nigerian Army Social Activities 2022, which was hosted by Sector 3 OPHK/MNJTF. Governor Zulum was represented by Hon. Sanda Amodu, Vice Chairman of Monguno Local Government.

The Governor promised that the government and the good people of Borno State will always work together and support the Sector and the military as a whole in their efforts to put a stop to the threat posed by marauding terrorists.

The Commander Sector 3 OPHK/MNJTF, Major-General Abdulsalam Abubakar, emphasized the value of the Nigerian Army Social Activities (NASA), which he described as a long-standing custom from the pre-colonial era, in his welcome remarks.

Additionally, General Abubakar revealed that the event unites officers, troops, and citizens of the host town to wine, dine, and savor the local fare while appreciating the people’s rich cultural heritage through dance, arts entertainment, tug of war, and other side activities.

The Commander, in the spirit of appreciation, thanked the Federal, the Governor and State Governments for their unwavering support, the Chief of Army Staff (COAS), Lieutenant-General Faruk Yahaya, for providing all the platforms required, greatly enhancing the fighting effectiveness of the troops, and the Theatre Commander as well as the Force Commander for their excellent leadership skills in directing the conflict in the North East.

Brigadier-General EE Agada, the chairman of the organizing committee, gave the vote of thanks and conveyed his deep thankfulness to God for making the event successful. He also expressed his deep gratitude to the Commander Sector 3 OPHK for giving him the chance to serve as the Chairman Organising Community as well as the President of the Federal Republic for his strategic guidance to the military, the Governor of Borno for his support, and the Chief of Army Staff (COAS), Lieutenant General F Yahaya.

The event’s highlights include cultural dances and displays, comedic entertainment, tug of war, giving out presents to the Governor and other honored guests, and other unique side attractions.
