Headquarters 1 Division Host Second Quarter Office Management and Document Security Workshop 2023

Document Security Workshop

Headquarters 1 Division Nigerian Army holds a 5-day Second Quarter 2023 workshop on office management and document security for officers and soldiers of 1 and 8 Divisions Area of Responsibilities at the 1 Division Auditorium in Kaduna.

The Special Guest of Honour, Chief of Army Staff Lt Gen Faruk Yahaya while giving his remarks, stated that the workshop is organized to confront contemporary security challenges in the Nigerian Army and also highlight the roles of officers and soldiers in the management of documents and some other challenges manifested in cyberspace through various social media handles.

The COAS, who was represented by the General Officer Commanding 1 Division Nigerian Army and Force Commander Operation Whirl Punch, Maj Gen OT Akinjobi reiterated that the workshop was to remind and sensitize troops about security classifications on handling, storage, and transmission of documents, office management, ethics and values, vetting, punishment, punishment, and rewards. He further stated that the security of documents is one of the cardinal requirements for effective operations and administration in the Nigerian Army. He urged participants in the workshop to pay close attention and also have an open mind to gain from the workshop.

Moving forward, the focus shifted to document security, an increasingly vital aspect of modern-day operations. The participants delved into best practices for handling sensitive information, ensuring proper storage and disposal, and mitigating potential security risks. The workshop emphasized the significance of digital security measures to protect electronic documents, equipping team members with the necessary knowledge and tools to safeguard valuable information.

Additionally, the division’s commitment to excellence was evident throughout the workshop. The organizers addressed specific challenges faced by team members, offering practical solutions tailored to their needs. The participants left the workshop feeling empowered, equipped with enhanced skills and knowledge that would positively impact their daily work routines.

The high point of the workshop was a series of paper presentations/lectures by seasoned retired senior officers from ‘A’ Team Unique Professionals Limited), an exchange of souvenirs, and group photographs.
