During an oversight visit to Headquarters 1 Division Nigerian Army (NA) in Kaduna, the Chairman House Committee on Army, Hon. Abdulrazak Namdas, praised the performance of the Headquarters 1 Division Nigerian Army (NA). The committee was in the Division, according to Hon. Namdas, to evaluate how well the 2022 budget was being implemented during the period under review.

The Chairman House Committee on the Army went on to say that they had been persuaded by the Division’s briefing, particularly in the area of project execution, and he highlighted the importance of using Nigerian Army Engineers for the majority of projects within the Nigerian Army. The Division’s Area of Responsibility saw a significant decline in banditry, abduction, and other crimes, and the Chairman commended the General Officer Commanding and his troops for that (AOR). The GOC 1 Division/Force Commander Operation Whirl Punch then took the Committee on a tour of the Division’s current and completed initiatives and projects around the Division’s Area of responsibility.

The General Officer Commanding 1 Division of the Nigerian Army, Maj.-Gen. TA Labaja, thanked the Committee for its visit and asked for continued support for the Division and the Nigerian Army as a whole earlier in his response. Gen. Lagbaja gave the Committee assurances about his dedication to the welfare of the troops and pledged that they would continue to conduct themselves with the utmost professionalism in accordance with international best practices. The presentation of gifts, signing of the visitors’ book, and group photographs were among the highlights of the visit. The tour of active projects at 1 Base Ammunition Depot was another.
