The ten (10) Christian police officers who have been nominated for the 2023 pilgrimage to Jerusalem, Israel, met with the Inspector-General of Police, IGP Usman Alkali Baba, on Friday, January 20, 2023. In order to inspire Police Officers to be strong and keep the noble precepts of their faith, the Inspector-General of Police, in partnership with other well-meaning Nigerians, organized and funded the trip, which is the first of its kind.
The Inspector-General of Police also requested and received the consent of the Nigerian Christian Pilgrim Commission (NCPC), according to CSP Olumuyiwa Adejobi, the Force Public Relations Officer, Force Headquarters, Abuja, to guarantee that this becomes a regular exercise. To ensure that next governments follow the same course, he has likewise entrenched the system.
During the pilgrimage, the officers were urged by the inspector general of police to represent the Nigeria Police Force and the nation well. He also instructed them to use the time for serious thought, which would ultimately affect their performance as police officers.
