According to General. Lucky Irabor, the Chief of Defence Staff, the Nigerian Army Heritage and Future Centre (NAHFC), a think tank for the army’s future growth, will develop a pool of competent and devoted personnel officers as well as specialists to address the unique challenges the Nigerian army faces in both operations and capacity development (CDS).

If used as intended, the legacy and future center would boost the actions of the Nigerian army by preserving its past and using critical analysis to draw lessons for present and future operations, he said in remarks given on Thursday during the Center’s inauguration in Abuja. “It is vital for me to emphasize the crucial role research plays in finding effective solutions to the many challenges the Nigerian armed forces are currently facing,” he said.

The center’s objectives and a benchmark for greater performance from the Nigerian army in particular and the armed forces in general were emphasized by Gen. Irabor to the commanders who would be stationed there.

He expressed grateful for the sacrifices made and other services rendered by the leaders and men of the Nigerian army to preserve the integrity of the country’s territory.

In his remarks, Lt. Gen. Faruk Yahaya, the Chief of Army Staff (COAS), noted this. In order to accomplish operational victories and enhance the prestige of the Nigerian army, he also mentioned that the Center’s primary emphasis was on professionalism and personnel. The Nigerian army has seen tremendous change since the establishment of democracy.

The COAS observed that important administrative and operational milestones had been reached by the Nigerian army, showing that the transition had progressed. In order to prevent a rollback of the successes thus far, he also expressed his willingness to put safety measures in place. Lt. Gen. Yahaya said that in order to assure accurate future forecasting based on sound analysis and research, the center will endeavor to institutionalize and sustain innovative solutions to tactical, operational, training, administrative, and logistic difficulties faced by the Nigerian army.

He underlined that concepts that had been deliberately and persistently pursued to their logical conclusion were all that the army had accomplished throughout time. He also said that NAHFC would serve as a focal point for ideas that would guide the Nigerian army in the desired future.

The COAS congratulated the commanders and troops for their dedication to ongoing efforts to rid the country of all dangers while also promising to continue giving them with the logistical support they need to complete their operations successfully.
