In Borno, 32 terrorists, including a senior Boko Haram commander named Abu Illiya, were killed during a raid on terrorist camps in Konduga Local Governments of the State by Nigerian Army troops of Operation Hadin Kai working with hybrid forces of the Civilian Joint Task Force.

In certain known Boko Haram hideouts in Borno State, in the villages of Kayamari, Habasha, and Yuwe, the troops reportedly accomplished the accomplishments during an intelligence-led aggressive fighting patrol.

An intelligence source in Lake Chad informed Zagazola Makama, a counterinsurgency expert, and security analysts that the forces came into contact with the terrorists during the counteroffensive patrol in Yuwe, sparking a fierce gunfight.

According to the sources, the troops were able to beat Boko Haram militants, while others were alleged to have fled in disorder as a result of the army’ overwhelming firepower, abandoning their possessions and weapons.
Additionally, 50 bicycles found in the terrorists’ hideouts were burned by the troops.

After being given leadership of Operation Hadin Kai, Maj. Gen. Ibrahim Ali, the newly appointed Theatre Commander of the Joint Task Force, North East, vowed to continue working for the defeat of the terrorists.
To put a stop to terrorism in the North East, he continued, all hands must be on deck.
