In accordance with the EFCC (Establishment) Act of 2004, the Public Procurement Act of 2007, and the Proceeds of Crimes (Recovery and Management) Act of 2022, the Economic and Financial Crimes Commission, or EFCC, has begun the auction of a total of 435 cars in Lagos that are the focus of final forfeiture orders.
The exercise, which was planned to take place in all of the Commission’s commands, got underway on Tuesday, December 6, 2022, in Lagos with public item inspections. The exercise for the auction got under way on Wednesday, December 7, and will last until Thursday, December 8, 2022.
The goods may be found in 40 Bourdillon Road, CVU Obalende, 15A Awolowo Road, 14 Cameroon Road, and 40, Bourdillon Road, Ikoyi, Lagos.
Dr. George Ekpungu, Secretary to the Commission and Chairman of the EFCC Asset Disposition Committee, ADC, made the following remarks during the opening ceremony yesterday: “The exercise, which is the first of the planned auction of forfeited properties across EFCC Zonal Commands and EFCC Headquarters, is being carried out in accordance with the (Establishment) Act, 2004, Public Procurement Act, 2007, and Proceeds of Crimes (Recovery and Management) Act, 2022.
The Bureau of Public Procurement is working with it to make sure that all applicable laws are followed.
He thanked the sister organizations, such as the Nigerian Army, who had been called to guarantee proper security and orderliness while extending a warm welcome to the auctioneers at the Center.
Ekpungu also urged the attendees of the sale to pay close attention to what the auctioneers were saying and to follow all applicable rules.
The EFCC’s Lagos Zonal Command has assigned the nine auctioneers listed below to sell the 435 cars at the designated location on 14 Cameron Road, Ikoyi, Lagos: Rihanna Auction Limited, Kamyus Consult Limited, Areogun Resources Limited, BIS N JEG, Integrated Services Nig. Ltd, Mau & Sons Ltd., Langar Aghaji & Co., Fagobe Company Ltd, and Musa Kira and Co.
The cars were assigned to auctioneers based on evaluated values and an open ballot procedure, and their photos were prominently displayed with assigned lot numbers for public viewing.
The objective of the display was to provide potential bidders the chance to inspect and express interest in any car of their choice.
