35 Boko Haram terrorists have been killed as part of the ongoing clearance operation in Sambisa Forest by the Nigerian Army Troops of the 21-Armored Brigade, Bama, Operation Hadin Kai, and 199 Special Forces Battalion.
In their steadfast attempts to fully exterminate the Boko Haram Terrorists militants hibernating along the edges of the Sambisa forest, the forces under the command of Brig.-Gen. Victor Unachukwu launched the unprecedented incursions into the Boko Haram hideouts.
Zagazola Makama, a counterinsurgency expert and security analyst in the Lake Chad region, was informed by intelligence sources that the clearance operation, which started in Awulari on April 17, had advanced into other known rebels’ camps near Garno and Alafa.
He claimed that on April 19, the forces assaulted and cleared Izzah and Farisu, where they fiercely engaged numerous terrorists who were resisting in a protracted gunbattle. After around 30 minutes of gunfire, the military were able to defeat the terrorists, killing 18 of them while seizing several motorcycles, AK-47 rifles, and an anti-aircraft cannon. He claimed that regrettably, during the engagement, one member of the Civilian Joint Task Force paid the ultimate price.
After moving on to Farisu, the forces killed an additional 8 militants there. Three terrorists were murdered in Alafa, two motorcycles were found, and one commander who went by the name “Salafi” was also killed.
The ground troops in Ukuba made contact with another group of militants on April 20 and killed seven of them. While some managed to flee while being shot. One truck and two 122 artillery cannons were found by the forces.
While other terrorists immediately escaped and avoided coming into contact with the oncoming troops, the brave warriors proceeded on to clear Garin Glucose where they nutritionalized two more terrorists.
After three days of special operations, the troops in Borno state’s Bama Local Government Area successfully cleared terrorist hideouts in the communities of (Garno), (Alafa), (Alafa), (Garin Doctor), (Njumia), (Izzah), (Farisu), S(omalia), (Ukuba), (Garin Glucose), (Garin Ba’aba), and (Bula Abu Amir). Some of the militants’ captive women were freed over the course of the operation.
