In the Last Three Weeks, Troops Killed 103 Terrorists, Four Commanders Captured in Military Operations

In the previous three weeks in the Northeast, Operation Hadin Kai (OPHK), troops have neutralized over 103 Boko Haram/Islamic State of West Africa State Province (ISWAP) in renewed operations.

This is coming while evaluating the status of military operations by the troops on Thursday in Abuja, Maj.-Gen. Musa Danmadami, director of defence media operations, made this statement to the journalists at Defence Headquarters in Abuja.

General Danmadami added that during that time, the military also detained Twenty Two (22) terrorists, including four commanders and Eighteen (18) collaborators, within the general area of operation at theater command.

The director said that Two Hundred and Eighty (280) terrorists and their families, including Twenty Nine (29) men, Seventy-Three (73) women, and One Hundred and Fourty Eight (148) children, surrendered to the military throughout the theater of operation, while the army freed 30 kidnapped victims in various locations.

Director Defence Information claimed that OPHK’s land and air components had continued to control the region while rigorous military operations were being carried out by troops in towns, cities, and mountains aimed at feching out the remnants of Bokok Haram.

Additionally, during the weeks under scrutiny, the troops recovered weapons and ammunition from the terrorists, which includes; Twenty (20) AK47 rifles, Two (2) G3 rifles, five (5) FN rifles, Two (2) QJC guns, |One gun truck, Two Thousand Four Hundred and Eleven (2,411) rounds of 7.62mm special.

Other items recovered by the troops were One Hundred and Forty Three (143) belted rounds of 7.62mm NATO, One Barretta pistol, Twenty Six (26) AK47 magazines, four bandoliers, and four Thirty-Six (36)-hand grenades, among other things.

The General added that Thirty-Three (33) motorbikes, Thirty-Three (33) bicycles, medical supplies, Fifty (50) pieces of clothing for men and women, bags of cereals, jerrycans of groundnut oil, cartons of detergent, Two Hundred and Ninety One Thousan, Sixty Naira (N291,060) cash, and other miscellaneous items are among the other items that were found by the troops.

The surrendered Boko Haram/ISWAP terrorists and members of their families are being profiled for further action, he added. “All seized items, rescued people, and detained terrorists have been handed over to the proper authority for further action.”
