Inter-Rivalry: ISWAP Attacks Boko Haram enclave, Seizes weapons

The Security Analyst, Counter Insurgency Expert on Lake-Chad, West Africa, Zagazola Makama has reported over the weekend that ISWAP had in a silent operation stormed the home of Boko Haram insurgents in Gajibo, a town 95km northeast of Maiduguri, Borno state capital, and slaughtered six whom they declared as “infidels”.

It would be recalled that, since the death of Boko Haram leader Abubakar Shekau, there was a continuous and sustained inter-rivalry clash between the fighters of the Islamic State of West African Province (ISWAP) and Jamā’at Ahlil Sunnah lid-Da’wah wal-Jihād, (aka) Boko Haram.

Makama also reports that the attackers also recovered five AK rifles from the Boko Haram terrorists.

In the last 12 months, ISWAP had carried out similar attacks against Boko Haram terrorists in its sustained hostilities, which caused the group huge casualties and loss of war equipment.

The deteriorating inter-rivalry clashes, between the jihadist groups, may lead them to irreversible self-destruction. The revolting ISWAP had over the years vowed to battle more with members of its former main body than even with the Nigerian troops.
