In continuation of efforts to ensure adequate and effective security of the Federal Capital Territory and it’s environs, the Commissioner of Police FCT Command, CP Simon Babajide has charged troops of G7 Joint Security Operations to ensure that law abiding citizen within the Federal Capital and it’s environs are secured through out this festivitive period and beyond, while making sure that FCT become hell for criminals hibernating in the communities.

The Commissioner of Police gave the charge while flagging off the second phase of G7 Joint Security Operations for the FCT which is expected to cover parts of north central states
of Kogi,Niger, Nasarawa, Benue as well as part of Plateau and Kwara state.
The flagging off ceremony held at Guards Brigade Forward Operations Base, Kwali Area Council on14 December 2022 is aimed at ensuring that troops drawn from the various agencies remain more resolute in addressing the lingering security challenges bedeviling the country especially during the festive season and as the 2023 general election draws closer.
CP Simon Babajide while appreciating the Service Chiefs further expressed gratitude to the Commander Guards Brigade Brig Gen Muhammed Takuti Usman who he said has been responsible for creating the needed platforms for the effective security and defence of the FCT.
He assure the troops to deal decisively with any criminal or group of criminals who may want to disturb the peace and security currently being enjoyed., While warning all criminal elements to stay clear as the operation would make it unbearable for them.

Similarly, the Army Headquarters Operations Monitoring Team today visited troops of the Brigade in the field to ascertain the progress made towards ensuring that the Federal Capital remains safe and secured for all and sundry.
The Monitoring Team Leader, Maj Gen Adeyinka who was represented by the Commander Army Headquarters Provost Group, Lt Col Muhammed Aliyu Tanko commended the Brigade for a thorough job of keeping the city safe and secure and further assured the Command of all the necessary security support from the appropriate superior authority.
He added that the federal Capital and it’s environs no doubt has remained better secured under the current commander Guards Brigade while also commending troops of the Brigade for being professional in carrying out their assigned task.
He urged them to remain focus so as to attain the Chief of Army Staff’s Vision of having a professional Nigerian Army ready to accomplish assigned tasks within a joint environment in defense of Nigeria.
Earlier in his operational brief,the Bde acting Chief of Staff and the Commanding Officer 176 Guards Battalion, Lt Col Kolawole Adisa said troops of the Brigade has conducted several internal security operations and clearance operations to areas suspected to have criminals hideout within the Brigade Area of Responsibilities and they remain committed to defending the FCT in synergy with other sister security agencies and organisations.
Responding, the representative of the Commander Guards Brigade,Lt Col saidu Yahaya while appreciating the team for the operational visit assured them that the Brigade remains Committed and would leave no stone unturned to ensure that FCT and it’s environs remains safe,secured and defended.

He assured the team that with the high moral standing of all the troops participating in the ongoing Exercise Enduring Peace 2022, FCT would be hell for criminals who are hibernating in communities around the FCT.
Troops participating in the exercise are drawn from all the sister security agencies operating within the Federal Capital. The team were conducted round the camp before proceeding to some troops deployment around the Lokoja Abuja express way as well as Giri Gwagwalada high Way.
