There was changed of Baton at Headquarters Joint Task Force South-South Operation DELTA SAFE in Yenagoa Baylesa State on Friday 5 May 2023.
The change of Baton was between Rear Admiral Aminu Hassan who was recently posted to Naval Hotel and Suites Abuja and appointed the Managing Director, while Rear Admiral Eugenio Olusegun Ferreira was posted from Navy Secretary Branch at Naval Headquarters Abuja, where he was the Director of Manning.
In his remarks, the immediate past Commander Joint Task Force South-South Operation DELTA SAFE Rear Admiral Aminu Hassan thanked the officers, men and civilian staff the Joint Task Force for their support that led laudable achievements in the fight against crude oil theft, pipeline vandalism, piracy and other criminalities in the Niger Delta Region and also urged them to give same supports to the new Commander.
Rear Admiral EO Ferreira, congratulated Rear Admiral A Hassan for his successful tenure and promised to build on it for more achievements in line with the mandate of Operation DELTA SAFE.
The event witnessed singing of handover note, decoration of the new Commander with the OPDS insignias, presentation of Command Flags and Handing over Note and Quarter Guard activities.
Senior Officers that graced the occasion, were General Officer Commanding 6 Division Nigerian Army who also double as the Land Component Commander OPDS Major General JH Abdussalam, Commanders NNS Delta, NNS Shoro, Sector Commanders, Component Commander, Heads of Departments, Principal Staff Officers OPDS, Commanding Officers amongst other.
