In an encounter in the Mafa axis of Borno State, the Nigerian Army soldiers of Operation Hadin Kai reportedly killed 14 combatants, including Abu Hassan, a Commander (Munzir) of the terrorist organization Jam’at Ahl as-Sunnah lid-Da’wah wa’l-Jihd (Boko Haram).
According to reports, the terrorists were killed after 14 terrorists were neutralized when a gunner in a troop patrol convoy fired an anti-aircraft gun at the position of the fleeing terrorists.
Security analyst and counter-insurgency expert Zagazola Makama reports that 13 other fighters in addition to commander Abu Hassan who oversaw the heist mission were also murdered.
