General Dogara the new Director General National Youth Service Corps (NYSC) is a native of Kagarko LGA in Kaduna State. According to SpyeTV News, Dogara Ahmed is to take over from Mrs. Christy Uba, who was appointed to oversee the NYSC in November 2022.
Remember that President Buhari fired former NYSC boss Brigadier-General Muhammad Fadah in the same month, which led to Uba’s appointment. Fadah was allegedly charged with corruption, nepotism, and hostility towards religion.
On September 2, 2022, Fatima Abubakar, the chairwoman of the NYSC governing board, wrote a letter to Sunday Dare, the minister of sports and youth development, in which she cited numerous grievances about the DG.
The letter stated that some petitions against Fadah questioned his age and academic background. It also stated that the board had previously phoned and spoken to DG about the claims, but that DG “failed to fulfil his promises of change”.
