Kano State Commissioner of Police Visits Eastern Bypass Area Command, Interacts With Stakeholders, Lecture Police Officers

On 6 February 2023, the Commissioner of Police, Kano State Command, CP Mamman Dauda, psc(+) visits Eastern Bypass Area Command, interacts with community policing stakeholders and lectured Police Officers in line with the community policing template of the Inspector-General of Police, Federal Republic of Nigeria, IGP Usman Alkali Baba, psc(+), NPM, NEAPS, fdc, CFR. The CP also inspected the newly built Eastern Bypass Area Command located at Danmaliki Quarters, Kumbotso LGA.

SP Abdullahi Haruna KIyawa, the Police Public Relations Officer in a statement signed on behalf of the Commissioner of Police Kano State said during the interaction with community policing stakeholders, the Commissioner of Police, Kano State Command, CP Mamman Dauda, stated that he must appreciate the community policing stakeholders of Eastern Bypass Area Command, that, he commences the familiarization Tour to meet Community Policing Stakeholders and also, to lecture Police Officers in line with the Community Policing Template of the Inspector General of Police, IGP Usman Alkali Baba, psc(+), NPM, NEAPS, fdc, CFR.

The Police Commissioner also stated that he is at the Area Command to appreciate the Community Policing stakeholders for their support, encouragement and cooperation, to hear directly from them on the security challenges of their respective localities, and brainstorm on a way forward to solve the challenges. He called on the stakeholders to report incidences or suspicions to the nearest Police Station, provide information to the police and avoid taking laws into their hands, and also, shun all forms of political violence. In his interaction with Police Officers, he appreciates them for their effort in crime fighting and charged them to continue to exhibit a high level of professionalism, be always on alert while on duty, avoid all forms of corruption, be civil to the public, respond rapidly to distress calls, maintain visibility policing and sustain Operation Restore Peace that has been yielding positive results.

In his remark, the Chairman of, the Police Community Relations Committee (PCRC) Eastern Bypass Area Command, Alhaji Nura Ali Bayero appreciates the Commissioner of Police for finding time out of his busy schedule to visit the Area Command and pledges to give more support and cooperation. He further stated that, whoever is in Kano must appreciate the effort of the Police, and that they will continue to mobilize the public to give total support to the Police. He wishes the CP a successful stay in Kano State. Also, the Chairman of Kumbotso LGA, Hon. Alhaji Hassan Garban Kauye Farawa ably represented by his vice, Honourable Yahaya Bala Challawa, on behalf of the Chairman appreciates the CP for the visit and pledges to continue to give support to all Divisions under Kumbotso Local Government Area.

Many Dignitaries including Local Government Chairmen, Traditional Rulers, Religious Leaders, members of Community Policing Committees, Academicians, Women Groups, Students, Youth Leaders, Human Rights Groups, and Members of Vigilante Groups, etc. were present and all make remarkable contributions in terms of the way forward in terms of peace and security of the respective communities. The visit ended with a presentation of Awards and Commendations to the CP by various Community Policing Stakeholders.
