Officials have been charged by the police commissioner Kano State Police Command to remain impartial, apolitical, firm, steadfast, and committed to ensuring successful elections through free, fair, credible, transparent elections.
Prior to the March 18 Kano State Gubernatorial and State Assembly Elections, the Kano State, led by CP Mamman Dauda, reportedly received more personnel, operational vehicles, non-lethal weapons, personnel protective equipment, and anti-riot equipment from Force Headquarters, Abuja. This is according to SP Abdullahi Kiyawa, the Police Public Relations Officer Kano State Command.
The Commissioner of Police for Kano State Command, CP Mamman Dauda, praised and congratulated the Inspector-General of Police of the Federal Republic of Nigeria, IGP Usman Alkali Baba, for his commitment to carrying out his policing vision and mission and urged officers and men in the command to continue fighting crime and criminality with renewed vigor and determination.
The Command’s Management Team, Area Commanders, Tactical Commanders, and Divisional Police Officers were all in attendance at a number of meetings where the Commissioner of Police expressed his appreciation for the officers’ work in reducing crime. He gave the officers orders to remain impartial, apolitical, firm, steadfast, and dedicated to ensuring successful elections for the state assembly and governor of Kano State in 2023.
