Major General Christopher Musa, the Theatre Commander of Joint Task Force (JTF) North East (NE) Operation HADIN KAI (OPHK), visited the frontline soldiers of 26 Task Force Brigade (Bde), Gwoza today as part of efforts to assess soldiers’ combat readiness and boost their morale in the ongoing counterterrorism and counterinsurgency operations.
The Brigade Commander, Brig Gen DR Dantani, welcomed and briefed the Theatre Commander upon his arrival at the Bde Headquarters. The Theatre Commander then went to 192 Bn Headquarters to look at the facilities and ongoing initiatives there. He also paid a visit to the FOB Rann and the 3 Bn (Main) in Gamboru.
The TC spoke to the troops about a variety of topics during the trips, including the present state of the theater’s operations, administrative concerns, and the security situation. Additionally, the Commander reassured them of the Theatre’s unwavering efforts, based on instructions from Lt Gen F Yahaya, the Chief of Army Staff, that all personnel who have served in the Theatre for two years should receive a proper rotation.
The Commander encouraged soldiers to maintain discipline and commitment to eradicating the marauding remains of BHT/ISWAP terrorists hiding out in the NE region and the edges of Lake Chad while also relaying the praise of the CDS, Gen. Leo Irabor, and Service Chiefs. In his own words, Maj Gen Musa added, “We have only one task at hand, and that is to neutralize terrorists. Maintain the momentum and continue to uphold the NA’s honor by neutralizing every terrorist you came into contact with.
Brig Gen. EH Akpan, the Theatre Intelligence Coordinator, Col. OM Azuikpe, the Commander NA UAV COMD, Col. I Sule, and the Ch J1, Col. UG Okodaso are all members of the Theatre Commander’s entourage. The visit went without a hitch.
