The Senior Leadership and Staff Officers Course 1/2023 student officers have been charged by Major-General Jamal Abdussalam, the General Officer Commanding (GOC) 6 Division Nigerian Army, to guarantee that learning occurs. The command was given to the student officers on May 2, 2023, after they had been taken on a formal visit to the Division’s headquarters by Major General Adekunle Adeyinka, Commandant of the Nigerian Army College of Logistics and Management.
Lieutenant Colonel Iweha Ikedichi, the acting deputy director of Army Public Relations 6 Division Nigerian Army, said this in a statement given to the media.
Colonel Iweha said that Major-General Jamal Abdussalam, the GOC 6 Division Nigerian Army reminded the students not to get distracted while on the state tour and to make sure that learning happens despite any difficulties. He urged the students to get the most out of the study tour and assured them of the Division’s support to make sure it went off without a hitch.
Major-General Adekunle Adeyinka, the college’s commandant, had already congratulated the GOC for his unseen work in making the course a reality. He recalled the important role the GOC played as the previous Military Secretary (Army) in ad-libbing faculty members and seeing the Nigerian Army College of Logistics and Management come to reality.
According to the Commandant, the purpose of the Student Officers Study Tour, which has as its theme Enhancing National Security through Socio-Economic Development, is to provide the student officers with a thorough practical understanding of the blend of leadership and management best practices in preparation for potential adoption and application. The Nigerian Study Tour, according to Major General Adekunle Adeyinka, is an essential component of the curriculum since it gets the students outside of the typical classroom setting.
The Senior Leadership and Staff Officers Course is specifically created to enhance the staff duties and service knowledge of middle cadre Direct Regular Course officers while also providing them with the leadership abilities, modern management concepts, and methods required to take on greater responsibilities in the Nigerian Army.
