The Commander Guards Brigade, Brigadier General Muhammed Takuti Usman has again called on Guards Brigade officers to remain loyal to constituted authority, stressing that it is non negotiable as members of the Nigerian Armed Forces who are responsible for securing the country’s seat of power and it’s environment.
The Commander made this assertion during the decoration of some senior officers of the Brigade at the Scorpion Officers Mess, Wubassey Barracks, Asokoro today 13 December 2022.
The Commander and other senior officers while advising the newly promoted senior officers congratulated the decorated senior officers for their well deserved promotion to the senior rank and reminded them to uphold the tenates of military service particularly as Guards Brigade officers.
The Commander further appreciated the President and Commander -In- Chief of the Armed Forces for approving the promotion and equally used the opportunity to also express gratitude to the Chief of Army Staff,Lt Gen Faruk Yahaya for finding the decorated officers Worthy of the promotion.
The event also witnessed the investiture of newly posted in officers of the Brigade who had completed the Brigade training cadre for newly posted in personnel adding that investiture of Guards officers is a tradition that dates back several years.
The ceremony was well attended by senior officers from within and outside the Brigade. Prominent among those in attendance were Col Igwe Patrick Omoke of the Defense Intelligence Agency (DIA) , Gp Capt Johnson Udodi of the Headquarters Nigerian Air Force, Commanding Officers of Units under the Brigade and families as well as friends of the decorated officers.
