Air Marshal Oladayo Amao, the Chief of Air Staff (CAS), visited front-line troops in Maiduguri, Borno State to evaluate the joint operation’s progress and to recognize the achievements of the soldiers. Air Marshal Amao specifically commended Major General Chris Musa, the Theatre Commander of Operation Hadin Kai, for his leadership on the front lines, which has resulted in the excellent level of coordination and synergy among all security agencies operating in the Theatre as well as the high-level successes being recorded daily.

He said, “The Chief of Defence Staff and the Service Chiefs are quite happy of what you have all been able to do and because of your efforts, members of the Armed Forces of Nigeria and in fact all Nigerians have every right to be proud.” The CAS went on to say that he was in Maiduguri to evaluate the operation’s success of the front-line troops and to encourage the team to keep up the firepower against all state adversaries rather than to back down. He urged the troops to keep up the pace and keep taking the initiative.
In response, Major General Chris Musa reminded the CAS that over 10,000 terrorists and their families had surrendered to troops in the previous three months, while numerous terrorists and their top leaders had been killed as a result of the enhanced level of joint operations. Additionally, he expressed gratitude to the CAS for its assistance to the Air Component, which he claimed was the key to the various achievements noted.

Along with a few Branch Chiefs from NAF Headquarters, Air Marshal Amao has now recovered and returned to Abuja.
