Maj-Gen UN Babangida has assumed duty as the 9th Rector of the Nigerian Army College of Environmental Science and Technology (NACEST). He took over Command of the college from Brig Gen HY Abdulhamid who was posted to Nigerian Army University Biu (NAUB), Maiduguri.
Major-General Babangida expressed his gratitude to Lieutenant-General Faruk Yahaya, the Chief of Army Staff, for the unique opportunity he gave him during the handing over and taking over event conducted at the Headquarters.
The new Rector of the College also referred to his appointment as a “homecoming” and urged the institution’s officials and management team to act professionally, regard themselves as the college’s rector at their level, and demonstrate their suitability as reliable candidates to take the college to an admirable height.
In his farewell speech, outgoing College Rector Brigadier-General HY Abdulhamid thanked God Almighty and the COAS Lieutenant General Faruk Yahaya for giving him the chance to serve as Rector of the Nigerian Army College of Environmental Science and Technology. He also thanked the officers and staff for their assistance and loyalty over the course of his tour of duty.
General Abdulhamid, the College Rector then urged them to extend to the new Rector the same kind of support he had received from them.
The signing of the handing and taking over notes, transferring the command flag, and snapping a group photo were the event’s highlights.
