Major General Olatoye Pays Courtesy Visit to Commandant Nigerian Military School

The Commandant Nigerian Army School of Infantry (NASI) Major General Oluyemi Thomas Olatoye has on 16 Feb 23 paid a familiarization visit to the Commandant Nigerian Military School (NMS) Brigadier General Abdumalik Dansari Aliyu at Nigerian Military School Chindit Cantonment Zaria.

Stating the purpose of his visit, Maj Gen Oluyemi Olatoye said that he came to familiarize himself with Units and Formations within 1 Division area of responsibility. He added that Nigerian Military School as a noble institution is notable for raising future leaders and hence cannot be left out.
He disclosed that he assumed duties as the 17th NASI Comdt on 24 Jan 23. Explaining further, the Comdt said that he is familiar with Chindit Cantonment as he has served as the Chief of Staff HQ Depot NA.

He assured NMS of his unalloyed determination towards sustaining the existing corporation and collaboration between the two institutions and pledged to strengthen it. He concluded by congratulating the Comdt NMS Brig Gen Aliyu on his assumption of office as the Comdt of the prestigious institution and thanked him for hosting him in Nigerian Military School.

While responding, the Comdt Nigerian Military School Brig Gen Abdumalik Aliyu expressed his happiness in hosting the NASI number one seat. He disclosed that he is the 27th NMS Comdt who took over Command of the noble institution on 20 Jan 23. He stated that this is his 4th time in NMS being first posted to the school as a Captain adding that he is very familiar with the school. He explained to our august visitor that when he took over Command, he had a meeting with the Offrs, and then all instructors and Boys of NMS addressing them on how the enviable height reached by the school should be maintained at all cost. He disclosed that the level of the Boys discipline and regimentation is commendable but still needs to be improved upon as discipline is the bedrock of the Nigerian Army.
He reiterated his committed to also maintain the ties and corporation between the two institutions and promised a stronger synergy between them.

Present to receive our august visitors with the Comdt NMS are, the Deputy Comdt NMS Lt Col NC Abdusalam, the Chief Instructor Military Wing Lt Col FA Francis, the Chief Instructor Education Wing Maj MI Marafa, the Boys Battalion Commander Maj VDB Akintayo and other Principal Staff Officers.

Amongst the Comdt NASI entourage are the Military Assistant to the Comdt NASI Maj OO Abraham, and Lt SA Saad. The highlights of the visit are, the inspection of the quarter guard, presentation and exchange of souvenirs, signing of visitors’ book and group photograph.
