Lieutenant- Colonel AK Balarabe has been praised by Brigadier -General Muhammad Kaku Fadah, the director general (DG) of the National Youth Service Corps (NYSC), as a committed, determined, and hardworking officer. He made this known while decorating the officer (his Military Assistance) to the rank of Lieutenant-Colonel at the NYSC National Headquarters in Maitama, Abuja.
He urged Lt- Col AK Balarabe to be more dedicated and highlighted that every promotion comes with greater responsibility. Along with his wife Mrs. Balarabe, who assisted the DG, Lt- Col. Balarabe received the decoration.
Among the dignitaries present was Brigadier-General MT Usman, commander of the Guards Brigade. He asked Lt. Col. Balarabe to be loyal to the legitimate authorities.
Lt. -Col. Balarabe, who had just received a decoration, answered by praising God and thanking President Muhammadu Buhari (GCON), the Army Council, the Service Chiefs, and others for providing him with the rare opportunity to progress.
Kura Local Government Area in Kano State is where Lt. -Col. AK Balarabe was born and nurtured. He attended Science Secondary School in Dawakin Kudu and received a BSc in Civil Engineering before enrolling at Bayero University in Kano.
Lt. Col. AK Balarabe has taken part in a number of domestic and international courses. He is a member of the Nigerian Institute of Management, the Teachers Registration Council of Nigeria (TRCN), the Nigerian Environmental Society (NES), the Nigerian Society of Engineers (NSE), and the Institute of Civil Engineers (UK) (NIM).
He received his commission into the Nigerian Army on October 24, 2008.
In addition to family members, friends, and classmates, the event was also attended by a number of officers and men of the Nigerian Armed Forces.
