The Defence Correspondents Chapel of the Nigeria Union of Journalists (NUJ), Oyo State Chapter led by Mrs Oluwatoyin Malik has on October 3, 2022, paid a visit to Major General Aminu Chinade, General Officer Commanding (GOC) 2 Division Nigerian Army. Mrs. Malik said that the purpose of the Defense Correspondents’ visit to the Division was to officially welcome the GOC, engage in conversation, and seek out opportunities for collaboration and synergy in the areas of information dissemination, particularly in preventing fake news and public misinformation.

She applauded the existing good working relationship between the Division and the Correspondents Chapel and appealed for more synergy when seeking for clarification in the course of reporting the activities of the Division.

The General Officer Commanding (GOC), 2 Division Nigerian Army Major General Aminu Chinade expressed his gratitude to the reporters for their visit, which he said has demonstrated the positive working relationship between the media and the Nigerian Army as a whole. He thanked the union for fostering peace, togetherness, and the collective existence of Oyo State and the nation through honest reporting which according to him will further strengthen the security of the country.

While assuring the Correspondents of the Division’s ongoing engagement and collaboration with them to complement its roles and contributions to national development, the GOC urged them to constantly inform the public through their medium of the roles and activities of the Division, the Nigerian Army, and the Armed Forces at large.
