The Executive Governor of Taraba State, His Excellency Arc. Darius Dickson Ishaku extolled officers and men of the Armed Forces at the Wreath laying ceremony on 15th January 2023 held at Jolly Nyame Stadium, Jalingo in honour of our fallen heroes who paid the ultimate price of defending our fatherland.
Speaking at event, the Governor who was represented by His Excellency the Deputy Governor of Taraba State, Engr Haruna Manu expressed his gratitude and respect to officers and men of the Armed Forces including the fallen heroes for their bravery in defending our fatherland.
The Governor also stressed that, “The Nigerian Armed Forces, as an institution, has continued to inspire confidence in all Nigerians over the years, as it has remained the nation’s stabilizing factor and the defender of not only our territorial integrity, but also the democracy we all enjoy. The military is one organization that has risen above some of the society’s inherent fundamental contradictions.”
While charging the military to continue on the path of Patriotism, Honour and Nationalism, he enjoyed the people of Taraba State to continue to support the military, particularly in taking care of the Ex-service men, their dependants and the surviving families of those who gave their lives in the service of their country.
Speaking earlier, the chairman Nigerian Legion Taraba State Council WO Nuhu Samail Jantaro (Rtd) while appreciating the government for it’s support to the legion, solicited for more support and allocation from state government and other well meaning indigence of the state.
The event was well attended by from all arms of the state government, Comd 6 Bde NA Brig Gen FS Etim and other personnel of 6 Brigade, Heads of other security agencies, Men of the Nigerian Legion, wives of fallen heroes among others.
High-point of the event was the Wreath laying by the Special Guest of Honour, the Comd 6 Bde NA, Commissioner of Police, Director DSS, Chairman Nigerian Legion and the representative of wives of our fallen heroes.
