AFRD 2023: Kaduna State Observed Armed Forces Remembrance Day, Honours Fallen Heroes

On January 15, 2023—Armed Forces Remembrance Day Celebration 2023—Kaduna hosted a vibrant military parade at the Ahmadu Bello Stadium. Annually, on January 15, the event honors Nigerian Armed Forces personnel who have given the ultimate sacrifice while performing their duties as well as those who are still alive and were present for the incredibly large turnout.

In Kaduna, the Special Guest of Honor and other dignitaries laid wreaths, other dignitaries signed the memorial register, and ceremonial pigeons were released to symbolize peace, unity, hope, and prosperity for our dear Nation Nigeria and Kaduna State, which were among the event’s major highlights.

The Chief Judge of Kaduna State, Hon. Justice Muhammadu Lawal Bello, the Governor of Kaduna State, His Excellency Malam Nasir Ahmad El-Rufai, the Deputy Governor of Kaduna State, Her Excellency Dr. Hadiza Sabuwa Balarebe, the Air Officer Commanding Air Training Command, AVM NN Ananaba, and the Commandant of the Nigerian Navy School of Aviation are among the dignitaries present.

The commandant of the Nigerian Security and Civil Defense Corps, His Royal Highness, the Emir of Zazzau, the commissioner of police for Kaduna State, CP Yekini Ayoku, the state director for the department of state services, sector command for federal road safety, the representative of widows from the Nigerian armed forces, among many other dignitaries, were among the other dignitaries who attended the historic event.
