Nasiru Mohammed, ISWAP Collaborator and Liaison Officer, Arrested in Kaduna GSM Central Market

The Nigerian Security Intelligence apprehended Nasiru Mohammed, an ISWAP associate who helps to communicate and arrange with recently arrived terrorists in the northwest of Kaduna State.

According to a security source who spoke with counterinsurgency expert Zagazola Makama, the arrest was recently made with the aid of several North East-based local informants.

According to the sources, Nasiru organized ISWAP activities, including logistics supply and the provision of temporary housing for terrorists prior to their deployment to other camps. Nasiru worked in the GSM Wing of Kaduna Central Market.

The sources lamented the fact that the real obstacle preventing the troops from entirely and permanently eliminating terrorists is the nefarious activities of a local network of informants, collaborators, and sponsors who are supporting and defusing the crises.

Using this network of informants, the dishonest locals and their recruiters have successfully grown their businesses. He was given to the 1 Division of the Nigerian Army for additional investigation.

The Chief of Army Staff, Lieutenant General Farouq Yahaya, commended the soldiers fighting on the front lines of operations around the country on November 4 while emphasizing that “more effort needs to be done to build on the gains.”
