Vice Admiral Awwal Zubairu Gambo, the Chief of Naval Staff, has praised the leadership of NOWA on a number of welfare projects that are enduring legacies and have endeared the Association’s leadership to well-meaning and good-spirited people throughout Nigeria, particularly as a key contributor to national development.
At the Naval Officers’ Wives Association Events Center’s groundbreaking ceremony on Thursday in Admiralty Estate, Navy Town, Asokoro Abuja, the Naval Chief issued this commendation.
Vice Admiral Gambo, who was honored to preside over the historic event, thanked the Naval Officers’ Wives Association for their contributions to the country’s overall well-being as well as the ongoing construction of a 200-bed Naval Officers’ Wives Association Women and Children Green Smart Hospital, which began in June 2022.
He said that the 1.9 hectares of land were being used as direct interventions in support of the welfare goals of the Navy to begin the construction of the Naval Officers’ Wives Association Events Center at the Admiralty Estate, Asokoro.
In order to realize the goal of establishing a cutting-edge Events Centre in a cozy and secure setting, our gathering here is to launch the first of many other initiatives.
“I am certain that building this Center will undoubtedly generate a supportive sociocultural atmosphere that will boost morale among servicemen and their families as well as the civilian people using the facility,” he said.
Vice Admiral Awwal Zubairu Gambo is particularly appreciative of NOWA’s laudable accomplishments in delivering high-quality education and vocational training, engaging in charitable endeavors, providing economic and child- and woman-empowerment programs, and encouraging love and harmony among the families of naval officers and their wives.
He claimed there was no better moment to make these efforts than now, when family sustainability and togetherness are required to address the wide range of security concerns the country is currently experiencing.
Unquestionably, these accomplishments have helped national security because they have increased the fortitude required to sustain our fighting troops, the official added.
