On March 7, 2023, Assistant Commander General of Narcotics (ACGN), NDLEA Zonal Commander Sule Momodu, who oversees Zone F of the National Drug Law Enforcement Agency, which includes Kaduna and Katsina, paid a courtesy call on the General Officer Commanding 1 Division Nigerian Army and Force Commander Operation Whirl Punch Major-General Taoreed Lagbaja,.
Major-General Taoreed Lagbaja, the General Officer Commanding 1 Division and Force Commander for Operation Whirl Punch, expressed his gratitude to the Zonal Commander for his tour and highlighted the importance of NDLEA to the neighborhood in his remarks. He exhorted the group to take advantage of every chance to spread awareness of substance abuse to every barracks in the area of responsibility under the jurisdiction of the 1 Division.
Gen. Lagbaja added that Lieutenant General Faruk Yahaya, Chief of Army Staff, has long taken steps to combat drug abuse in the Nigerian Army by mandating drug tests for officers and troops prior to the start of classes in all Nigerian Army Schools. The Nigerian Army has a zero tolerance policy for drug and substance misuse, as was highlighted by what he said. Later, he promised the NDLEA that the Section would continue to assist it as needed.

Sule Momodu, the Zonal Commander of NDLEA Zone F ACGN, had earlier stated that his journey was intended to become familiar with the GOC and to seek support and collaboration since he had just recently taken office. He also stated that he would take the occasion to advocate for the fight against drug abuse and its effects. He declared that the organization would keep working to reduce drug use in society and make sure that young people were adequately informed about the risks associated with drug use.
The presentation of the WADA badge to the GOC, formation commanders, and Principal Staff Officers, the signing of the visitors book, the distribution of trinkets, and the group picture were the event’s highlights.
