Nigeria-Born Woman Rises to the Rank of Brigadier-General in the US Army.

In the US Army, Amanda Azubuike, a military woman of Nigerian descent, was promoted to the rank of Brigadier-General at a military installation in Fort Knox, Kentucky.

British citizen Azubuike, who was born in Nigeria, joined the US Army in 1994 and later received a commission as an aviator after completing the Army Aviation Officer Basic Course.

While receiving her first-star general from Gen. James Rainey, Brig.-Gen. Amanda Azubuike was congratulated on a tweet by Maj. Gen. Antonio Munera in front of family, close friends, and other local authorities.

Former Chief of Staff and Senior Military Advisor at the Office of the Secretary of Defense, Azubuike also served as Deputy Commanding Officer (DCO) at the US Army Cadet Command.

Additionally, she had positions as a communications advisor for the National Football League Players Association and a public relations expert for the NFL franchise Washington Redskins.

Additionally, she worked as a public relations staff member for the Washington Redskins of the National Football League and a communications consultant for the National Football League Players Association.

Azubuike holds degrees in mass communication and media studies from the University of Central Arkansas, national security and strategic studies from the United States Army War College, and public relations and corporate communications from Georgetown University. She also holds a master’s degree in professional studies from Georgetown University.
