59th Anniversary Celebration

The Nigerian Air Force (NAF) will commemorate its 59th anniversary from May 4–7, 2023, in Enugu. The celebration’s topic is “Doctrinal Imperatives for Successful NAF Operation,” and Muhammadu Buhari, the President and Commander-in-Chief of the Nigerian Armed Forces, is anticipated to be the Special Guest of Honor.

The inter-command doctrine penetration competition, the ceremonial march, the aerial show, and the introduction of new platforms, such as the DA-62 aircraft, Wing Loong II, and CW Unmanned Aerial Vehicles (UAV), are all scheduled events during the celebration. The flying-out parade of recently departed senior air officers, the golf kitty, the juma’at prayers, the interdenominational church service, the medical outreach, and the gala night are other events. In addition, as a gesture of gratitude for their ongoing support of the Air Force family, members of the Nigerian Air Force Officers’ Wives Association will conduct humanitarian support activities in a few chosen NAF host villages.

A press conference about the 59th Anniversary Celebration was organized, according to NAF spokeswoman Air Commodore Illoh, to officially tell the public about the upcoming NAF 59th anniversary celebration with the theme “Doctrinal Imperative for Successful Nigerian Air Force Operations.”

According to Air Commodore Illoh, “The NAF is relying on the media for timely and accurate reportage of every event marking the NAF Day 2023 Celebration.”

He also utilized this forum to warn the public, particularly the good people of Enugu State, not to worry since air platforms would be moving around during the event.

According to Air Commodore Illoh, “There is no doubt that the Service has grown over the years into a formidable and respected force within the African continent and even beyond.”

He said that in keeping with its mandate to use air power to secure the nation’s territorial integrity, the Service is also committed to ensuring a peaceful and developed nation.

He claims that the NAF has also contributed significantly to the restoration and maintenance of democracy on the African continent, as well as notable advancements in the fields of internal security, humanitarian relief, and peacekeeping missions.

Therefore, he said, it makes sense to celebrate both its existence and the admirable accomplishments that have been made over the past year.
