Public Speaking Engagement

A public speaking engagement was organized as part of the 81 Division Area of Responsibility’s Nigerian Army Day Celebration (NADCEL) 2023 activities to inform and sensitize secondary school students about the makeup of the Nigerian Army and its crucial role in national unity, integration, and development as outlined in the Federal Republic of Nigeria’s Constitution.

The interesting lecture was held at the Baptist Academy in Obanikoro, Lagos, on July 3, 2023. The elite Baptist Boys Academy, Baptist Girls Academy, Command Day Secondary School Ikeja, and Command Day Secondary School Ojo were among the schools from whom participants were chosen.

The Commandant of Command Day Secondary School (CDSS), Ikeja, Lieutenant Colonel CB Obida, spoke on behalf of Major General Obinna Ajunwa, the General Officer Commanding (GOC), 81 Division Nigerian Army. He emphasized the Nigerian Army’s historic importance as the nation’s oldest institution and its essential duty of preserving Nigeria’s territorial integrity, as specified in the Constitution.

While pursuing their individual objectives, Lieutenant Colonel Obida urged the students to think about enlisting in the Nigerian Army to protect the territorial integrity of their country. He listed a number of advantages to joining the Nigerian Army, such as employment security, chances for professional advancement, financial stability, access to high-quality healthcare, as well as other amenities including travel, housing, and educational opportunities.

Deacon Gbenga Abodunrin, the principal of the Baptist Academy, thanked the Nigerian Army for planning the event and choosing the Baptist Academy as the location on behalf of the institution. He advised the pupils to take advantage of the chance that had been handed to them.

The NADCEL 2023 edition will highlight the Nigerian Army’s extensive history and accomplishments as it marks its 160th year of existence.

The event featured a quiz competition between students from Baptist Academy and CDSS Ikeja, the awarding of prizes and mementos, and group pictures to remember the occasion. The interaction successfully informed the kids about the function of the Nigerian Army and gave them information about future career options there.

Public Speaking Engagement

The Nigerian Army hopes to uplift young people, foster patriotism, and urge the youth to contribute to the security, unity, and development of the country through programs like the Public Speaking Engagement.
