In a significant display of power against criminal elements and extremist groups, the Nigerian military, as part of Operation HADARIN DAJI, has effectively neutralized a total of 117 bandits through a well-coordinated aerial attack. The action was effectively led by the General Officer Commanding 8 Division.

According to intelligence sources, the successful mission involved precise airstrikes targeting a substantial assembly of criminal terrorists in MADADA, located within the Maru Local Government Area (LGA) of Zamfara State. The operation was conducted on the route leading to Sageko Malekachi village in Kebbi State, specifically on Tuesday, October 11, 2023.

The group of criminals, who had originally strategized to proceed into Kebbi State with the purpose of launching assaults on military installations and vulnerable targets, were halted by defensive forces positioned in BENA and MALEKACHI, situated inside the DAN GURGU village. Following the events, the bandits were compelled to relinquish their malicious undertaking and withdrew towards DAN SADAU, located in the Maru Local Government Area of Zamfara State.

In reaction, the Air Force Component of Operation HADARIN DAJI promptly initiated action against the bandits in DAN MANI during the time frame of 01:30 and 02:30 hours, resulting in the neutralization of more than 100 bandits. In addition, ground forces were deployed to the location and successfully apprehended 17 fleeing bandits, therefore neutralizing them. Following the aforementioned operation, a total of 17 motorcycles were deliberately ignited, an AK-47 weapon in a damaged state was successfully retrieved, and a quantity of 17 rounds of specialized 7.2mm ammunition was effectively seized.

According to other reports, there was a collective interment of individuals identified as bandits in SANGEKO, located in Niger State, as well as in BABBAN DOKA, situated in the Maru Local Government Area of Zamfara State. Furthermore, it is worth noting that a number of injured criminals were apprehended in the vicinity of BABBAN DOKA at precisely 12:00 AM on October 11, 2023.

The military command expressed their appreciation for the soldiers’ steadfast resolve, resilience, and prompt reaction to the emergency signal, resulting in the successful eradication of the criminal group.

The notable achievement highlights the Nigerian military’s dedication to upholding peace and security within the area and eliminating the risks presented by criminal factions.
