Vice Admiral Emmanuel Ikechukwu Ogalla, the Chief of the Naval Staff (CNS), officially opened 36 new apartments for the Senior Ratings of the Nigerian Navy in Kubwa, Abuja, on Wednesday, June 26, 2024. The recently opened residential complex consists of six towers, each with twelve roomy three-bedroom apartments and eighteen two-bedroom flats, for a total of thirty-six well-appointed, contemporary dwelling units.
Vice Admiral Ogalla emphasized the project’s importance in his remarks during the ceremony, citing it as evidence of the Nigerian Navy’s continuous efforts to enhance the welfare and living conditions of its people. “This measure demonstrates our commitment to enhancing the welfare of our Navy personnel,” he said, emphasizing the company’s commitment to offering top-notch housing for its employees.
Vice Admiral Ogalla went on to say that this program is a component of a larger plan to establish housing developments of a similar nature in different parts of the nation. His statement, “We have initiated similar projects in different parts of the nation, which will soon be commissioned,” indicated ongoing efforts to raise the standard of living for navy personnel across the country.
Commodore Tanko Lengaya, Commander of the Naval Unit Abuja (NUA), gave the CNS and other guests a thorough tour of the recently built residences after the ribbon-cutting event. The tour highlighted the luxurious finishes and contemporary facilities of the apartments, which are intended to give Senior Ratings and their families safe and comfortable living spaces.
