The Ogun State Governor Prince Dapo Abiodun has said his administration would continue to support various security agencies to improve the security architecture of the state while playing host to the General Officer Commanding (GOC) 81 Division Nigerian Army Major General Obinna Ajunwa.
Governor Dapo Abiodun who described security as an essential tools to socio-economic development explained that the State had been disturbed in the past by security challenges such as kidnapping, robbery and cultism but now subsided through the efforts of the security agencies. He noted that his administration since inception has taken the issue of security seriously by providing necessary logistics to the security personnel to enhance their performances, the governor promised that the current administration would intensify efforts towards the sustenance of the current position of the State as the investment destination and industrial hub of the nation
The Governor assured the GOC of his utmost support on security. He further urged the army boss to use his vast experience in the job to strengthen security arrangements, saying this is necessary due to the influx of people to the State being the education capital, the religious capital of the nation and its closeness to the neighbouring countries
Earlier, Major General Obinna Ajunwa commended Governor Abiodun Dapo for his support of the Nigerian army. He said he was in the state on a familiarisation tour and to intimate the Governor about his plans to improve the security arrangement at his catchment areas
