Poultry Business is one of the Nigerian Army’s Quick Impact Projects, according to Chief of Army Staff Lieutenant General Faruk Yahaya. It could support economic growth using a non-magnetic strategy and provide the necessary platforms for post-service plans for both serving and retired personnel.
The statement was given by the Chief of Army Staff on May 2, 2023, during the opening of the Poultry Management Workshop 2023 hosted by the Nigerian Army Farms and Ranches Limited (NAFRL) and held in the conference room of the Land Forces Simulation Centre Nigeria.
The COAS, who was represented by Chief of Logistic Army Major General Omotomilola Akintade, emphasized that the workshop is timely because the NA is working harder to align with the Federal Government Policy on Agricultural Revolution to stop food shortages and increase the Internally Generated Revenue for the Country under the COAS’s visionary leadership.
The Executive Director of NAFARL, Major General Mile Durowaiye, emphasized earlier in his welcoming speech that the major goal of the organization’s creation was to promote the NA’s participation in the Federal Government Agricultural Programme and introduce the NA to agriculture and its whole value chain through the Poultry Business.
Experts in poultry management, senior officers, participants from NA formations and units, sister services, paramilitary agencies, and government parastatals were among those who attended the workshop with the theme: Gaining An Edge in Poultry Management.
