Operation SAFE HAVEN, a special task force with its headquarters in Jos, Plateau State, has a new commander: Major General Abdulsalami Bagudu Ibrahim.

Major General Ibrahim Ali, who was recently assigned to Theatre Command North-East Joint Task Force Operation HADIN KAI (OPHK) as Theatre Commander, was replaced by General Ibrahim, according to Captain Oya James, the Media Information Officer for Operation SAFE HAVEN.

Speaking at the handing-over and taking-over ceremony held at Operation SAFE HAVEN Headquarters on January 20, 2023, Major General Ali stated that the men and officers of the command have expressed a willingness to work with the incoming commander to accomplish the goals and objectives of Operation SAFE HAVEN, particularly in maintaining its kinetic and non-kinetic approaches to achieving lasting peace.

During his tenure as the command’s outgoing commander, the Operation SAFE HAVEN staff members were praised for their cooperation, perseverance, and dedication. He commanded them to consistently act with the utmost professionalism in carrying out their responsibilities as participants in the corridor of peace.

In his remarks, Major General Abdulsalami Bagudu Ibrahim, the new commander of Operation SAFE HAVEN, promised to build on and continue the accomplishments made under the previous commander.

In order to combat crimes within the command’s Joint Operation Area, Major General Ibrahim asked men, officers, and pertinent stakeholders to work together in the corridor of peace. In order to promote society, he exhorted the staff to uphold discipline and consistently preach peace.

The command’s commitment to fulfilling its responsibility to uphold peace by planning social intervention programs for host communities and using a non-kinetic approach to conflict resolution was also reaffirmed by the incoming commander.

The outgoing and incoming commanders signing the handing and taking over notes, presenting the incoming commander with a command insignia, and snapping the group photo were the event’s highlights.
